Villa PassiFlora was designed by architects Frank Greene of Rosemary Beach, Florida, and Agar and Johnston of Dominica. The villa’s design highlights the extraordinary views, while taking maximum advantage of the cooling effect of the continuous tradewinds from the east. The villa’s open design coupled with extensive verandah space create an environment in which indoors and outdoors merge, providing extensive outdoor space shaded from the tropical sun. We have worked with Dominican artisans and craftspeople to create a unique and very special home.
The Cottage and the Villa are barely visible to one another, and cottage guests don’t utilize the villa at all. Guests in the villa won’t notice cottage guests and vice versa. The cottage is self-catering. Rental of the two accommodations is separate. Rental of both allows a maximum of 10 guests on the PassiFlora property.

The Bedrooms

The villa features three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The master suite has a king bed and an adjoining study. The other two bedrooms feature beautiful British colonial canopy queen beds. All beds have mosquito netting. Jalousie doors made on Dominica of native hardwoods open onto the verandah, bringing the beauty of outdoors—and the cooling breezes—in.

Cooking & Dining

The kitchen/dining area
If you are a cooking enthusiast, preparation of meals from the multitude of fresh ingredients available on Dominica is its own reward. The villa is well appointed for the home cook, and your dining pleasure is sure to be enhanced by the glorious vistas in every direction. Several of our village restaurants will deliver delicious meals featuring local ingredients at very reasonable prices. Due to restrictions imposed by the pandemic, our staff cannot assist with meals at the time of this update (February 1, 2021).

Verandahs & Vistas

View from the verandah
The villa and its verandahs present vistas which will never be forgotten, looking up the spectacular northeast coast of Dominica to Morne aux Diables and to the dramatic French islands of les Saintes, Guadeloupe and Marie-Galante. Take in the sunset over Dominica’s volcanic tip from our observation tower while enjoying a rum punch. It truly doesn’t get much better than this!

The Pool

The pool

One of the most delightful ways to enjoy the villa’s glorious surroundings is from our pool. We commonly use the pool 3 times daily. The view up the coast from the water is absolutely breathtaking! The pool is ideal for an invigorating morning swim or a refreshing dip in the afternoon. Or perhaps the coda to an afternoon at the beach? And what can a hotel never offer … true privacy!
